Why don’t we do what we know we should do?

We all know we should move more, eat better and sleep more, but somehow life gets in the way and many times we just continue with what’s easy. What’s up with that?

Many of us might think “oh- I’m just not athletic like others, but I still think my health is ok.” However, did you know the average percentage of people in the US (15yrs or over) who participate in sports or some type of exercise activities on an average day is only about 16 percent? If we compare that to the numbers who watch television (80 percent!), it’s no surprise why health and wellness have become a big concern and obesity has become an epidemic.

So we eat more and move less, even though we are designed to move. We all know what we need to do . . . or do we? What’s getting in the way? What’s keeping us from optimal health, happiness and vitality?

How about if we figure this big mess out together, one simple step at a time.

Over the next several weeks I’m sure we can come up with a game plan. We’ll talk about why we don’t exercise and eat better, the benefits of why we should, success tips and also come up with the ULTIMATE formula to our lasting health and happiness. Hope you’ll stay tuned and enjoy the ride.

  1. Hamdallah!

I am ready to kick myself into gear now that the temps are manageable and your blog might be just what I need. Of course I’ll throw in a bit of modification (for good measure).

Looking forward to the future posts!

  2. Hamdallah back at ya Putzo. I’d be disappointed if you didn’t throw in those little modifications. I’d think something was wrong. Looking forward to your future comments. They’re always entertaining!
